Mr. Kittrell's litigation career began in 1980 as a trial attorney and supervising attorney for staff counsel of a large automobile insurance carrier in Los Angeles. Mr. Kittrell went on to become the managing attorney for a private law firm specializing in the defense of fraudulent claims. In 1992, he became managing attorney for the Orange County and later the Los Angeles County offices of a large commercial and general liability carrier supervising an office of 19 attorneys and support staff.
In 2007, Mr. Kittrell joined the Orange County office of Jackson & Wallace as Senior Counsel after eleven years as Senior Trial Attorney with O'Shea, Macrae & Edrington, staff counsel for Farmers Insurance where he handled high exposure complex cases in the areas of construction defect, general liability, premises liability, auto, homeowner associations and environmental claims.
Mr. Kittrell, as a member of ABOTA, has tried in excess of 60 jury trials to verdict, some of which posed seven figure verdict exposure.
Mr. Kittrell has actively participated in ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) on national committees as well as Banyard Inns of Court. Since 1996, Mr. Kittrell has served as an arbitrator, mediator, Judge Pro Tem and Temporary Judge for the Orange County Superior Court. Mr. Kittrell, by appointment of the President of the Orange County Bar Association, recently completed a third term as a member of the Judiciary Committee of the Orange County Bar Association.
