Mr. Thacker began his career in 1998 at the Los Angeles office of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley. Within months Ropers promoted him to team lead for law and motion matters, responsible for drafting and arguing briefs on diverse subjects such as entertainment law, complex business litigation, and employment discrimination.

Mr. Thacker moved to San Francisco and, in 2002, joined the firm of Carroll, Burdick, & McDonough. He practiced in the areas of toxic tort, corporate governance, and general business litigation, further developing his skills in writing and argumentation.

Mr. Thacker joined the Firm in 2004, where in his first month he successfully moved to quash a lawsuit via a fact- and law-intensive jurisdictional analysis. Mr. Thacker continued to pursue his interest in complex legal issues, frequently drafting and arguing motions critical to various clients' cases. He was quickly assigned to the Firm's Appellate Practice Group.

In 2006, the Firm promoted Mr. Thacker to Senior Counsel and Head of the Appellate Practice Group. He has already successfully resolved several cases at the appellate court level. In addition to his appellate work and the occasional trial, Mr. Thacker frequently assists with particularly difficult and/or technical questions of law by drafting and arguing motions at the trial court level.
