Mr. Wallace became a partner in the Firm in July of 1989. Beginning in June of 1982 he worked with Ms. Jackson in the defense of Eagle-Picher handling their asbestos cases as noted above. He has also handled cases involving exposure from machining beryllium products, inhaling benzine, exposures to toxic mists from solvents and general liability cases including auto and property damage. He has also handled cases in the latex litigation and ground water contamination cases. Additionally in 1985, he spearheaded the drafting and arguing of the successful demurrers filed in response to the largest asbestos property damage case involving residential buildings ever filed in the State of California.
In June of 1986, Mr. Wallace joined the San Francisco firm of Hassard Bonnington LLP to assist in the defense of cases filed against members of the Asbestos Claims Facility (ACF). As one of three firms in San Francisco utilized in the defense of ACF, Mr. Wallace had responsibility for managing and supervising the largest asbestos caseload in the Firm.
At present Mr. Wallace is also the partner in charge of the coordination and defense of 2000 product liability cases for a manufacturing defendant.
In addition to being involved in numerous asbestos trials which concluded during trial with either settlement or dismissal, he has tried eight jury trials to verdict. These were in New York, New Jersey, and California. In addition, he has successfully defended asbestos manufacturers in arbitrations in Southern California. |
