Jackson & Wallace LLP attorneys Allan D. Gutsche (lead counsel) and second chair, Thomas W. Purtell handled this unusual product liability case in Sacramento County to an excellent verdict. Plaintiff claimed damages from an exploding pool filter that was acquired from and installed by our client, Enjoyable Pools. Plaintiff's counsel, Dreyer Babich, only sued our client as the target in this case as they did not believe that they had a viable case against StaRite, the pool filter manufacturer. We filed a cross complaint, brought StaRite into the case, and developed evidence against StaRite from expert witnesses, and depositions of StaRite's corporate principal and lead engineer.

Firm founder Gaby Jackson recently co-chaired the HarrisMartin Conference: Litigation on the Edge - Asbestos & Silica, "California Style," in Sonoma, California on July 10th and 11th. Ms. Jackson co-chaired with Steve Harowitz from Harowitz & Tigerman. Ms. Jackson was also a presenter at the conference. She spoke about New Exposures and New Theories involving asbestos cases. Fellow Jackson & Wallace LLP Partner, Mark Sayre also presented at the conference. His presentation covered Substantial Factor and the Low Dose Product Defendant.
